It is something my children want to learn more about. This is one of many such children books written by Carole P Roman. I chose this one to review because I have worked in Israel, as well as many other countries. But this review could easily apply to any of the books by this author. They are written for children and such that children can understand. When I used to return from and an overseas assignment I had difficulty conversing with my children in a way that would hold their interest. Likely because what was of interest to me was not of interest to them and because as an adult maybe I was unable to communicate on their level. In this society, the ethnic mixture is such that it behooves every parent to explain and educate their children regarding the difference in cultures. The customs of others are better tolerated if those customs are understood or at least made to be familiar. Ms. Roman excels at presenting these examples including lifestyle, habits and even some linguistics. The art work is designed to hold a child’s interest. While this is but one example of the many children’s books she has written, I have read many and then pass them on to my grandchildren. Too numerous to list them all I suggest going to Amazon and typing the author’s name into the search space. Of the many read I can honestly say I recommend them all for any parent or grandparent to present.
