It's a good book to dig deep into the functionalities of Azure. I like how Microsoft breaks down the area of usage and what will be the best solution for your company. This isn't a "How-To" book, but more of a "What-Is-It" book. I was impressed how the Microsoft cloud can be a complete IT solution for companies. It's not just Azure web sites or Azure databases. Finally, there's integration with other technologies available such as Python, Node.JS, PHP, and even Hadoop. I feel knowledgable enough after reading this book to consult with business partners and explain to them Azure solutions.
I thought this was updated, it's not. This is outdated by almost 2 years. Though I don't remember paying for it. In any case, some basic information about thr cloud is still applicable.
My company is considering using Azure, and this sounded like a good way to learn something about it -- what it is, what it can do, why we might want it. If those are the questions you want to answer, you'll finish this book as clueless as you began. The book is full of marketing speak that doesn't explain much of a technical standpoint: "... Windows Azure lets you build, deploy, and manage solutions for almost any purpose you can imagine. In other words, Windows Azure is a world of unlimited possibilities." I can imagine being on a phone call with my manager, and when asked what Azure is, I explain "It's a world of unlimited possibilities."The author throws out a myriad of Microsoft-centric terms without explanation, assuming everyone will know them.I've since learned a bit about Azure through a contact with Microsoft, and I still can't manage to extract any value out of this book. Waste of time.

Very well written. A few minor errors here and there, which can confuse newbies such as me; but I've never seen a book like this that was perfect. Explanations are first rate.
